Walnut File Desk

Using a walnut tree milled from the clients’ own yard, this custom desk was designed specifically to fit the space under the window and the files that needed to be stored within. Dovetailed drawers with waterfall fronts have arched tops to match the curved, writer bump out. The solid wood apron was steam bent to follow the same curve and design details were made to compliment the room's architectural details.

Porch Swing

This bench swing was made of cedar with an exterior finish and exterior grade custom cushions. The back slats follow the arched top rail and are mimicked in the armrests. All the joinery is floating mortise and tenons so there is no visible screws. We incorporated jute rope instead of chain to hang this in order to keep with the soft aesthetic. Comfortable, sturdy and guaranteed to last a life time, this swinging bench was a joy to build.

Live Edge Walnut Dining Table and Benches

This table was crafted from 2 book matched slabs from a massive walnut tree. The beauty of live edge pieces is in the imperfectness of the lumber when you use the entire piece. Here we have gorgeous figuring as well as voids and defects that required filled. We paired this table with two benches, from similar stock to tie the dining set together. Everything is set upon matte black steel legs for a modern approach to a rustic piece of wood.

Chess Table

A big leaf maple burl with figured walnut inlayed into the face. The piece wasnt quite big enough for the chess board layout so the design was recessed and glass was added to allow the board to over hang the edge. The pedestal base is turned from solid walnut in a tulip design.

Walnut Dining Set

An 8' x 4' extra large walnut table, with 2 additional leaves hidden discretely inside. Total length is 10' which easily accommodates 10 guests. The table is build on a thick pedestal base, which the bench mimics. Brass edging adds a subtle accent in the table top and bench. The chairs, also crafted from solid walnut and steam bent into curves, support a upholstered cushion made in house.

Glass Coffee Table

This glass coffee table has a floating piece of triangular glass upon a triangular wood base. The base is angular wood members, joined entirely with traditional joints. The joinery is emphasized with walnut and maple species. The legs themselves are also splayed out, so each joint is different and this table itself is one of a kind.

Walnut Record Cabinet

We worked closely with our client on this piece. It had to fix precisely, which limited our overall size but they still needed to maximize the storage space and fit some vital elements. The best part of going with a custom piece is for niche pieces like this as we were able to provide everything after a few iterations of design.

Wenge Dining Table

In search of a dark table with plenty of natural beauty, we encouraged our client to consider a wood species that naturally achieved the desired color as opposed to staining. We were able to source a gorgeous piece of Wenge, an African hardwood, rich in color, pattern, and depth. We book-matched the wood, doubling and accentuating the grain, and paired it with a custom angular metal base in a simple, matte powder coat to match the showstopper top.

Rocking Chair

Quartersawn white oak cut from eight quarter stock. Chair and seat are composed of mortise and tenon joints with bridal jointed rails. Finished with varnish, with wax rub out for a satin finish.

Herringbone Table

Rainbow poplar tabletop and beam with custom metal legs. Herringbone pattern held by tongue and groove joinery. Reinforced with bow-ties and filled with epoxy. Finished with light toner and satin varnish.

Writer's Desk

Early 20th century inspired Peruvian walnut writer's desk featuring interior curve transitions, continuous grain flush drawer, wenge handle, and special leg accents. Finished with varnish and handmade wax for a durable, beautiful finish.

Cherry Slab Coffee Table

A lovely wishbone-shaped live-edge slab of cherry was the perfect piece to turn into a real statement coffee table in this living room.

Portable Library Cart

This design was built to expertly match their built-in library desk with a gorgeous steam-bent lamination curve - which also provided great structural support. We were able to make this extra long with solid wood casters and back bumpers to make sure books stayed put while effortlessly gliding across the floors. This project is a sister piece to the Built-in Bookshelf seen on our Architecture page.
